The State of Shopping and Our Economy

If you earn more than $100,000 a year, you’re 47 percent more likely to shop online than lower earners. You’ll also spend about 50 percent more than them.

This new research is from a CNN/ORC International survey indicating that 35 percent of adult Americans consider today’s economic conditions “very” or “somewhat” good. While optimists are still in the minority, they’re slowly but surely growing. CNN research in December showed only 26 percent were optimistic about the economy vs. 31 percent in March and 33 percent in May.
Whether the economy is really getting better is still TBD. But affluent Americans certainly think it is, evidenced by their retail therapy.
