Last week, MMC escorted media to Miami for the NERVO “Hold On” Launch Event presented by COVERGIRL. Situated in the midst of Ultra Music Festival, the party welcomed media, tastemakers and consumers to preview NERVO’s new single, “Hold On,” while testing the brand’s latest product offerings. NERVO also flaunted a custom nail art design created by street artist Alec Monopoly and applied with COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss. Meanwhile in New York City, MMC invited influencers to three local shows in P!NK’s The Truth About Love Tour, sponsored by COVERGIRL. They celebrated their favorite rock star by visiting various beauty stations in the arenas, which offered beauty touch-ups and giveaways.

MMC and client Secret have been selected as a finalist for the PRSA Silver Anvil Awards.
The Silver Anvil Award acknowledges the very highest level of achievement and is the established icon of the “best of the best” public relations practices.
In the second year of the Secret Mean Stinks program, MMC and Secret challenged teen girls to “Gang Up for Good” and prevent future bullying. MMC reached tens of thousands more girls, inspired more than one million actions of ‘good’ and connected the Mean Stinks mission directly to sales.
The Silver Anvil Awards Ceremony will be held on June 13 at the Equitable Tower.

One of the PR industry’s most competitive and prestigious accolades, the Big Apple Awards honor innovative and strategic campaigns that impact business outcomes.
Depend is nominated for two categories, Marketing Consumer Products – Packaged Goods and Marketing Consumer Products – Healthcare. P&G is nominated in the Global Communications category for MMC’s work supporting its Olympics sponsorship last summer.

Head & Shoulders announced the top 10 most hair damaged cities in the U.S. this week, with Chicago ranking #1. MMC, in partnership with Head & Shoulders Damage Rescue, answered the S.O.S. call from the women of Chicago yesterday by taking over the popular salon, Blowtique, to save their strands and scalps from hair damage.
Head & Shoulders celebrity stylist Sunnie Brook Jones shared her expertise and hair rescue advice with the 64 consumers who received a complimentary wash & style using new Damage Rescue shampoo and conditioner.
To build buzz for the event and introduce Chicago-based influencers to the Damage Rescue regimen, MMC coordinated four interviews with Sunnie Brook, and arranged for CBS Radio station B96 to broadcast onsite at Blowtique, encouraging listeners to check out the event. Online beauty influencers including The Sassy Peach and Second City Style covered the event.

Announced yesterday, Marina Maher Communications and Kimberly-Clark brand Depend won an Effie Award for Shopper Marketing, along with agency partners Ogilvy Action, Ogilvy & Mather, Organic and Mindshare. The Depend program is The Great American Try On, which drove record sales for a new adult incontinence product by repositioning it from the bathroom to the forefront of pop culture. The Effie Award recognizes the most effective results in marketing communications and is one of the highest recognitions a brand can receive in the industry.

At the year’s premiere beauty industry event, the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) Beauty Awards Demo, not one, but three Marina Maher Communications clients were out in full force engaging with hundreds of influential women from editors to beauty execs.
- MMC encouraged beauty industry attendees to learn all about the innovation behind four COVERGIRL products launched in 2012.
- To showcase the benefit that any Venus razor handle fits any Venus blade refill, MMC set up a “razor bar” where attendees could match a razor handle with a blade of their choice. More than 1,000 razors were given out, along with 1,500 refills, over the three hour event!
- For Poise, more than 200 women shared their thoughts on what makes them feel beautiful and confident and saw their quotes on a live feed alongside quotes from some of history’s great beauties for all attendees to be inspired by. Women received a gift bag with the 2013 Product of the Year award-winning Poise Feminine Wellness line which was introduced last year to help women approach menopause with confidence.
