Forget diets, watching calories, drinking Slimfast, taking diet pills,or hiring a professional fitness trainer. If you really want to lose weight, use your noodle and think about how the body works.
How does the body burn fat? It doesn’t matter half the time what you eat. What really matters is what you do to burn off what you ate. If you burn more calories than you take in, then you will lose weight. That is just how the body works. But mind you, if you deprive your body of its fuel by dieting, you won’t have the energy to burn the calories. Drinking a lot of water is always good, because your body need hydration. But don’t drink water to fill you up instead of eating. Remember water doesn’t contain protein, calcium, or vitamins that allows your body to function. Don’t deprive yourself of necessary carbohydrates. Your body needs that stuff.
Why pay for a gym membership, hit the cycle or the treadmill and bore yourself for a hour doing cardio? Why buy Tae Bo and punch the air and kick someone who is not standing there? I have a much better idea.
The secret to effective weight lose is not a secret. It is just not utilized as often as it should be. Instead of hitting the gym, put on your sexiest outfit, call up your girlfriends and just simply go dancing. Kick up your feet, go crazy and spin around, stretch your hands out and shake your dairy
well you know what I mean. You will find that the same muscles you work out in the gym are the same muscles you use to do your favorite dance or just dancing out of control. Dance all night and you have successfully burned hundreds of calories and you did so while having fun.
On June 24 I had my regular #2 with a Pepsi from Taco Bell while I crunched numbers in the finance department and thought about what was coming on TV that night. On June 25 my wife, Latisha, gave birth to twins – one boy and one girl. Patrick Jr. was born at noon and Princess Danielle thirty minutes later.
Funny how your whole life can change in a matter of 24 hours. My life is now filled with Similac Soy formula, sleepless nights, Huggies, onesies, pacifiers and the sound of babies crying – times two! How do I do it? I switch out the Pepsi for a Mountain Dew with my regular #2 at lunch. And let’s be honest – sometimes I chase it with a Red Bull.
Having twins is a lot of work but I’m lucky to have a great wife that makes it all look easy. I’ve seen her transform from my best friend to a nurturing mother. We now listen to babies cry more often than our favorite music, but both agree that our two new blessings make every minute worth it. We love seeing the occasional smiles, hearing them try to speak and watching them grow together each and every day.
These days the music industry on a business and entertainment end have changed drastically from how it used to be. Major corporations are controlling the use of the music, and talented artist are being replaced by one hit wonders with no real talent, or a ridiculous song named after a dance. Even recording artist with decent talent are being called great. What has the music industry become!
Back in the 60s Beyonce would have been considered a regular wannabee singer. Yes she has a nice voice (years of intense vocal training), but she has no emotion and no passion behind her voice. She couldn’t stand next to Aretha Franklin, Pattie LaBelle, Diana Ross, or Gladys Knight. Usher is another example of a R&B megastar who in the 60s would be stuck in local night clubs singing during amateur night. He couldn’t stand toe to toe with Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, or David Ruffin.
You take the Hip Hop artist on top of the charts like Lil Wayne, who in the late 80s would have been thrown off stage for his lack of true spoken word in rhyme form. He can’t compare to the pioneers who Jay Z, Tupac, and the Notorious BIG took inspiration from. 90% of the Hip Hop music being played on the radio each day is full of words that don’t exist and songs that are fitting for kids 3-7 years of age. Nothing of substance or true entertainment.
Even the way the business end is handled is ridiculous. You have artist who barely understand their own recording contracts, owning recording labels and signing artist to them. Even the successful ones such as Jay Z who has RocNation in a age where information is everywhere, has no clue as to how Berry Gordy created Motown and made it into the legendary company it is. And to this day Berry Gordy still receives publishing checks.
The Old is definitely the winner!!
