A Woodstock Experience

I am a retro hippy. Some of you probably figured that out after my performance at last year’s Halloween Party.
It all started back in the summer of ’69. I remember watching the evening news with my parents, seeing footage from the Woodstock Festival (a current event for me). I remember thinking those people are having a great time and wished I was with them. I so wanted to be a flower child.
Well, I got my wish. Little did I know that my future husband was in that crowd? Yes, he and 2 of his friends ran away for the weekend to see the greatest concert ever. He told me the music was awesome. The talents included musical geniuses such as Richie Heavens, Carlos Santana, Mountain, Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead Joe Crocker , Johnny Winters and of course my husband’s mentor Jimi Hendrix.
It rained, they slept on the ground at night and had very little food. They even lost one of his friends for 2 days. Hundreds of people showed up for the Festival. It was sea of mud and bodies everywhere. The crowd stormed the gates to get in. So, promoters decided to make it a free concert. Of course, my husband & his friends had already paid for their tickets. But that really didn’t matter. They witnessed the most awesome performances in music history.
So, the next time you see Jimi Hendrix performing the Star Spangle Banner look, about 15 feet in front of Jimi. My husband & his 2 friends can be spotted sitting right up front in the audience.
